I'm Jim

As a Fractional COO, CFO-Circle Chapter Director and Vistage Chair, I'm typically front-and-center with CEOs and business owners, CFO's and senior finance leaders whether embedded or in a larger group of peers. We talk confidentially about their biggest concerns.

Not their most recent wins or their losses. Their concerns or maybe more appropriately, their fears and their blind spots. What's yours?

Frankly, I'm accustomed to hyperbole, posturing, and positioning. What I've learned from experience is that we're all a lot better off if we open up and are willing to be vulnerable. First, with ourselves and then with others. After all, we don't know what we don't know and are universally relentless as human beings about getting better.

Aristotle emphasized that true friendship is self-dependent and based on mutual goodwill, not on utility or expectation of return. In a sense, and said another way, we can seldom pay back. Instead, I'm enthusiastic about paying it forward. I'm passionate about mentoring Triangle leaders who share my enthusiasm for creating the best versions of themselves---in business and in life.

In the end, it's all about the legacy that we leave. Speaking for me, I want my legacy to be defined by "leaving it better than we found it."

The Vistage mission: better leaders/better decisions/better results. Further, I'm grounded in the values of trust, caring, challenge and growth.

My singular focus and commitment--- let's work together to make each other better. Leaders are used to doing the hard work--- be it growing topline revenue, business vision, strategy, better execution, cleaner exits, stronger teams, and fewer sleepless nights. That is work worth doing.

I hold degrees from The Ohio State University in Business Administration and Operations Management and an MBA in Finance from The University of Tampa.

I've owned and operated the largest Toledo Scale distributorship in North America.
